Up the road is the allotment that I share with my neighbour - well, an allotment by name only, as neither of us had any time to speak of to work on it last year when we took it on, followed by a dreadful winter. Smitten with a sort of guilt I walked up there today , and briefly surveyed our "estate". It looks pretty much the same as it did last year, except that the cooch grass is not knee-high as it was when we first had it. Twice it has been cut down, regrown again, and needs a really good deep dig to get it up.
So a resolution of sorts has been made today.....
This look is to be banished.....
Allotments are fascinating places to me - like a different world, peace, a sense of industry ( mostly), of getting down to basics, and the people who inhabit them. What really goes on in those sheds ? Today I saw a dad quietly sitting reading a magazine outside his - he wasn't waiting for something to grow - another dozing in a chair, face turned to the sun. What stories can be told there....
Ours is in a rather nice place - we can look across the site, and have an amazing view.
So the next time I post on this I hope a bit more brown earth can be seen...
Hope you have all had a great weekend!
"he wasn't waiting for something to grow". Lol, I should hope not!
