My Wedding Cushion...

Tomorrow in the UK, we will be celebrating the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
Now, I re-iterate that fact (to be) just in case some of you hadn't noticed. Difficult to miss, but it does happen..
I have made my own little tribute to the nuptials, and it goes on sale in my shops tomorrow.
During my recent "blue period", "handsewn crazy patchwork embroidery" period, and most recently "bunting period", I decided to put them all together in one piece of work - a celebratory cushion. Here it is, and I am very pleased with it.

I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow, and enjoy street parties and the like.
I wish the young couple every happiness, and continued smiling faces...

Very special and different bunting...

I decided months ago to revive bunting as one of the  items I produce, similar to the way I used to make it .... but different. I made a list of  shapes to make it in as long as my arm , then started.
Some of the lengths I did were sold at recent craft shows, but I have now made some more to go in my online shops. Here's a little preview of some - I do hope you like them.

....some pretty red, white and pink  patterned hearts....

Some birds with woodland themed appliqued wings - and some with blue wings.....

now in my Etsy shop... so pretty and needing new owners!

Up the Road...

Up the road is the allotment that I share with my neighbour - well, an allotment by name only, as neither of us  had any time to speak of to work on it last year when we took it on, followed by a dreadful winter. Smitten with a sort of guilt I walked up there today , and briefly surveyed our "estate". It looks pretty much the same as it did last year, except that the cooch grass is not knee-high as it was when we first had it. Twice it has been cut down, regrown again, and needs a really good deep dig to get it up.
So a resolution of sorts has been made today.....

This look is to be banished.....

Allotments are fascinating places to me - like a different world, peace, a sense of industry ( mostly), of getting down to basics, and the people who inhabit them. What really goes on in those sheds ? Today I saw a dad quietly sitting reading a magazine outside his - he wasn't waiting for something to grow - another dozing in a chair, face turned to the sun. What stories can be told there....

Ours is in a rather nice place - we can look across the site, and have an amazing view.
So the next time I post on this I hope a bit more brown earth can be seen...
Hope you have all had a great weekend!

Sleep well!

Like a few other people I know, I have been waking up very early with first light, so I think I am going to make myself one of my sleep masks! It's been happening since the clocks went forward in March. Has anyone else noticed this in themselves?

Here is one...

I used mine while at the Brighton  fair, and they certainly drew lots of comments, which was really nice..

A week on my computer....

Having been busy making some new stock, I decided this week to start getting it into my shops daily. Here are a few glimpses of my brooch pillows......

The discipline of glueing myself in front of the computer is beginning to pay off! Tomorrow my other shop calls.
Please wander over to Etsy and take a look.....
